Wind power

Our wind power offer

Wind in our sails since 2005

Since 2005, Rabbalshede Kraft has paved the way for the spread of onshore wind power in Sweden. Today, we are one of the country’s leading players in the field – with nearly 20 parks and a total production capacity of 1,1 TWh. The majority of our parks are strategically located at good wind locations in southern Sweden, where the need for electricity is greatest.

Advantages of wind power

Wind power is one of the most important sources of renewable energy, and it plays a decisive role in the energy transition of society. Today, wind power accounts for 12 percent of Sweden’s total electricity production – a figure that is expected to increase as the need for renewable electricity grows. The Swedish Energy Agency estimates that in 2045, wind power will account for more than half of Sweden’s energy production.

There are a lot of advantages to wind power. Apart from being renewable and practically emission-free, it is the most cost-efficient alternative in the sustainable energy mix. No electricity production is entirely free from environmental impact, but the negative impact of wind power is very small compared to other energy sources. Wind turbines are also relatively easy to build, both onshore and offshore. This is important, as electricity consumption will keep pointing upwards in the coming years, especially when the manufacturing and transport industries phase out fossil fuels in favor of sustainable alternatives. To meet the future need for renewable electricity, continuous investments must be made into the large-scale expansion of wind power.

Emission free

Wind power does not emit any greenhouse gases or other emissions during operation.

Cost effective

Onshore wind power has the lowest total cost of all energy types per kilowatt hour produced.

Renewable

Wind energy is a renewable and infinite source of energy. In addition, it is free, unlike coal and oil.

The future is renewable

Since 2005, we have been developing turnkey wind farms in close consultation with local landowners and stakeholders. Today, we own and operate nearly 20 parks, which in 2021 had a total production capacity of 720 GWh. We also have a development portfolio of approximately 2 500 MW in various phases. The majority of our parks are strategically located in southern Sweden so that we can deliver locally produced and renewable electricity where the need is greatest. Our goal is to continue developing renewable energy sources in places where we can contribute the most. This includes wind farms, but also solar farms and hydrogen plants. And, of course, a combination of these renewable energy sources, which together in hybrid parks have the power to deliver a steady and flexible stream of green energy all year round.

We are here to stay

We have always taken a long-term position in our wind power projects. In fact, we still own all our wind farms, and we have developed and built the vast majority of them from scratch. As one of Sweden’s leading players in the field, we have the experience, know-how and resources to take on wind power projects through all phases – from planning and construction to commissioning and management. In a market where we compete with global players, we can offer unique flexibility and local knowledge. When you cooperate with us, you can rest assured you are getting a reliable partner with a high presence wherever our turbines spin – regardless of whether you are a landowner, entrepreneur, or municipality.

Do you want to power a renewable future with us?

The technological development in the wind power industry is advancing fast. Higher, bigger, and more efficient wind turbines enable us to build cost-efficient wind farms. Today, onshore wind power is competitive, and a natural alternative for landowners and companies looking to invest in renewable energy. We constantly strive to develop our wind power portfolio so that we can deliver even more green electricity to the Nordic power market – or straight to companies and organizations through long-term electricity supply contracts. By investing in our wind power projects, you help push the sustainable development forward, while making a green and profitable investment for the future.
