Rabbalshede Kraft owns and operates the Lursäng wind farm in Tanum municipality. The project was initiated back in 2008, largely thanks to great interest from local landowners. Since then, a lot has happened, thanks to rapid technological development in our industry. The ability to build taller turbines means that we can now produce the same amount of energy with fewer turbines than the five originally planned. Therefore, the wind farm now consists of three wind turbines with a total height of 200 metres and an installed capacity of 6.6 MW per turbine.

As the wind farm is located in southern Sweden, it provides an important addition of renewable electricity in electricity price area 3, which currently has a deficit of electricity production.

The wind farm was developed in-house by us at Rabbalshede Kraft, in parallel with the neighbouring Femstenaberg wind farm in Strömstad municipality. Our contracted construction contractor was Kanonaden Entreprenad AB, and the wind turbines were supplied by Siemens Gamesa.

The wind farm was commissioned in January 2024 and Rabbalshede Kraft remains as the long-term owner and developer.

Björkemosse
Björkemosse cultural environment

The well-preserved Björkemosse cultural environment area is located near the Lursäng wind farm. To make the area accessible, a digital map of petroglyphs, stones and burial grounds has been produced in collaboration between Strömstad municipality, Kulturlandskapet and Rabbalshede Kraft.

In connection with the establishment of our Lursäng wind farm in Tanum municipality, we at Rabbalshede Kraft undertook to pay for an effort for the cultural environment in the immediate area. Kulturlandskapet was hired to investigate the forms further and the result is a map with pictures and updated descriptions of the cultural heritage in the area.
