Wind measurement

Wind conditions are the deciding factor when planning a new wind farm.

To identify optimal locations for the turbines, meteorological maps and historical wind statistics are analyzed. Thereafter, wind measurements are performed with masts and SODAR during a period of one to two years. Electricity production increases with the cube of the wind strength, which means that a doubling of wind speed results in eight times greater electricity production.
